Lūhe'e Card

$5.00

Mālie Moana Art x Wednesday Paper Co.

About. Artwork by @malie.moana from our 2023 collaboration suite.

Description. In Hawai’i, the ocean comes alive in October. The first winter swells start to show, causing shores around the islands to be rough. Beneath the surface, aholehole, akule and opelu are running and the he’e (octopus) seem to be more abundant and active on Hawai’i’s reefs. An ancient type of lure called a lūhe’e, fitted with a shell, was used to attract and capture unsuspecting he’e. The abstract patterns on an octopus arm hang in the background of this print, showcasing one of its many camouflaging capabilities.

Specs. Card Size 5 x 7-in. Envelope Size 5.25 x 7.25.
